Steve Elias (born September 7, 1972) is a Canadian freestyle football and the President of the World Freestyle Football Association.[1][2] Nicknamed Eli Freeze, he is credited as being the godfather of freestyle football in North America.[3]

Freestyle football

Elias rose to popularity in the 1990s through his skills at freestyle football. Elias also created the signature move called the Eli Swirl in the 1990s.[4] In 1999 Elias founded Freestyle Soccer Inc. The organization under Elias manages the top talent in freestyle football athletes in North America and around the world. In 2014 Elias traveled to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup to perform his freestyle work in the world cup festivities.[5] In 2011 Elias created his own apparel line called SWRL.[6] In 2011 Elias founded the World Freestyle Football Association (WFFA). Elias as president turned the WFFA into a professional organization. Elias and the WFFA have put on multiple freestyle football events in association with Red Bull.[7][8][9]

Popular culture

Elias has been featured on FIFA Street and FIFA Street (2012 video game).[10][11]
