Stephanie Carlisi, (born December 19, 1976), also known by her stage name, Franki Pineapple, is an American songwriter, vocalist, and poet from Hollywood. Prior to her music career she was a novelist and actress. In 2003, she was authoring a book she titled Father F*cker!, Carlisi was asked how she planned to end her book, by one of her cousins, her response was, “I think my heroine will become a songwriter.” Carlisi credits this discussion with her cousin as a pivotal moment in her career.[1]

Early life and career

In an interview on February 1, 2021, with Chole Mogg, of moggblog.com, Carlisi speaks on her song entitled, "Evil Love". Carlisi says she always felt like she wrote the song about one of her exes and her struggle to leave their toxic relationship. Pineapple goes on to say, once she started to evaluate herself, she learned the song wasn't really about the rocky relationship she had with her ex, but instead, it was more so about her inability to love her self. Carlisi says the inconsistencies of love for herself stimmed back to when she was a child, saying it was dreadful.[2]

In another interview, published on musicforthemisfits.com, Carlisi again brings up her childhood, but this time it's not about her lack of self-love, but rather, her lack of skill for the art of music.

Apple lawsuit

On March 11, 2022, the New York Times published an article entitled, "Apps and Oranges: Behind Apple's 'Bullying' on Trademarks". The announcement was made that, Apple, maker of the Iphone, sued Carlisi over her stage name "Franki Pineapple", claiming her name was too similar their company's name, claiming it could potentially hurt their brand.[3]
