Stefan Foster (born March 28, 1997) is an author and photographer based in New York. He is the founder of Revive the Ambience. His work examines dust and emotion inside abandoned institutions, asylums, and care facilities.[1][2][3]

Foster is known for his work to restore and preserve Little Merrit's Tomb in Oxford, New York. Foster grew up in Norwich and began restoring the unique tomb of an eight year old boy at a young age.[4][5] When he first visited the site, Foster was drawn to the small glass window in the face of the tomb.[6] When he later discovered the glass pane shattered, he collaborated with the Town of Oxford to replace the window.[7] Foster has repaired several gravestones at the site and leads the effort to maintain the grounds of the cemetery.[8][9] In 2022, Foster completed a field guide that compiles research and photographs of the site.[10] Foster was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Town of Oxford government.[11][12]

Foster has received recognition as a former long term care ombudsman and has testified before the New York State Assembly and Senate on the issues of overcrowding and substandard care in nursing homes and long-term care facilities.[13][14] Foster calls on the public and lawmakers to help prevent the resurgence of Willowbrook State School in the form of nursing homes.[15][16][17]

Foster completed his undergraduate coursework at Daemen University.
