Steady (steadyhq.com) is a German internet platform for project financing. The young start-up company of the same name is based in Berlin.

Steady originated from an earlier project by founders Sebastian Esser and Philip Schwörbel called Krautreporter.

During its development, Steady was funded by the Digital News Initiative Innovation Fund, a funding programme offered by Google.

In 2024, Steady founder and CEO Sebastian Esser reported revenue of €18 million. The platform had then 260,000 paying members, with more than 2,000 creators earning at least €100 per month with Steady.

Steady aims to simplify crowdfunding for its customers: Steady takes care of various payment methods and providers such as PayPal, different national VAT rates, and legally compliant invoicing. Steady is free for users. For each transaction, the company receives a 10% commission on the payment amount, plus payment fees for the payment method used (direct debit, PayPal, credit card).[1]

Steady is operated by Steady Media GmbH, a limited liability company based in Berlin. In 2021, Steady employed 32 people.
