Staffan Widstrand born in 1959, is a Swedish Photographer and Author of 19 books in 9 languages.[1]

Widstrand is a “National Geographic Explorer”[2] and Sony Imaging Ambassador[3]. Most of his work is about highlighting the sheer Joy of our natural heritage, and trying to inspire wide audiences to better protect and take care of it. He is one of the founders of and the first Swedish person to be selected for the International League of Conservation Photographers in 2005. He has initiated several long-term nature conservation communication and media projects (Wild Wonders of Europe[4], Wild Wonders of China[5], Rewilding Europe,[6] the Swedish Ecotourism Association[7], Scandinavian Big Five project[8], Deforestationsweden.org).[9]

Part owner of the nature photo travel agency “Wild Nature Photo Adventures”.[10]

A frequent judge in leading international photo competitions, including “World Press Photo”[11], “Wildlife Photographer of the Year”, “Golden Turtle” (Russia), “European Nature Photographer of the Year-GDT” (Germany), “Xishuangbanna Biennal” (China) and “Humanity Photo Awards” (China).

Staffan has been called one of the world's “Most influential nature photographers” by Outdoor Photography magazine. He is the Managing Director and co-owner of Wild Wonders International.
