St Charles' Primary School is a Scottish Catholic Church and Roman Catholic primary school in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire. The school’s catchment area includes the communities of Newton, South Lanarkshire|Newton, Westburn, South Lanarkshire|Westburn, Drumsagard Village|Drumsagard and the surrounding areas.[1] The school is named after Charles Borromeo|St Charles - an Italian Cardinal (Catholic Church)|cardinal. The head teacher is Margaret Harris.[2]
History
On the 9th June 2011 the new St Charles' Primary School building located on Harvester Avenue opened.[3] A new nursery is being built at the site of the old St Charles' Primary School building, located near Newton Arms.[4] In 2015 the school installed additional Portable building|Portakabin classrooms[5] and in 2018 it was announced the school would be getting a £3.7 million extension just seven years after the new school was built.[6]
