The medical school of St. George's University, which can be found in the city of St. George's in Grenada, is known as the St. George's University School of Medicine. On July 23, 1976, Charles R. Modica established the educational institution that bears his name. Due to the large size of the institution, it was able to put more graduates into first-year residency places in the United States than any other medical school in the world did during the years 2011 and 2012. In 2012, The Princeton Review considered it to be among the "Best 168 Medical Schools" in the country. In the United States, there are 158 schools that are recognised for their ability to provide MD degrees.
