Stéphanie Novak is a French philosopher and political scientist. She is an associate professor of Political Science and International Relations at Ca' Foscari University of Venice[1].
Education
She is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure[2] and she did her PhD at Sciences Po Paris; her doctoral thesis[3] won 2011 Dalloz Prize Nouvelle Bibliothèque de Thèses and was published by the eponimous publisher.[1]
She is also a Max Weber alumna of the European University Institute[4].
Research
Novak's research focuses on negotiations in the European Union.[2], transparency[3][4], and democratic accountability. She has published a book [1] on the Council of the European Union[5][6], and worked on majority voting with Jon Elster at the Collège de France[7][8][9]. She is an expert on qualified majority voting in the Council of the European Union[10]and wrote a report for the Jacques Delors Institute[11]
