Sowaniya is a small village of 1485 hectares in Pali Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sowaniya depends on Pali, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sowaniya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Sowaniya's pin code is 306401[4], and village code is 02430500. The area of Sowaniya is segregated as 244 hectares irrigated area, 638 hectares unirrigated, the 160 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 443 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pali to sell ghee and make their living.
