South Matasar is a small village of 981 hectares in Barmer Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. South Matasar depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. South Matasar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. South Matasar's pin code is 344035[4], and village code is 02215700. The area of South Matasar is segregated as 960.5 hectares unirrigated, remaining 20.25 hectare area not available for cultivation.
