South First is an English-language digital news platform, with its headquarters in Hyderabad, India.It has been founded by Vasu Gandikota, who is also its CEO.[1]

It focuses chiefly on news from South India. It covers the five states — Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana — as well as Union Territories like Puducherry and Lakshadweep.

History

The parent company, Dakshin Digital Pvt Ltd, was incorporated in December 2021.

The website South First went online on August 15, 2022. The website was officially launched by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.

Events

South First currently organises an annual conclave, Dakshin Dialogues.

The first edition of the Dakshin Dialogues[2], held on September 17, 2022 in Hyderabad, featured the likes of Kerala MP and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor, Telangana IT Minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao, and AIADMK leader and then Tamil Nadu minister P Thiaga Rajan.

The second edition of Dakshin Dialogues is slated for October 7, 2023, in Bengaluru.
