Soonkhar is a small village of 1187 hectares in Kumbhalgarh Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Soonkhar depends on RAJSAMAND, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Soonkhar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Soonkhar's pin code is 313333[4], and village code is 03002900. The area of Soonkhar is segregated as 93.1 hectares irrigated area, 92.02 hectares unirrigated, the 171.1 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 830.29 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Rajsamand to sell juggary and make their living.
