Sonwari is a small village of 414.8 hectares in Ballia Tehsil in Ballia district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sonwari depends on Sahatwar (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Sonwari's pin code is 277402[4], and village code is 09240100. The area of Sonwari is segregated as 282.81 hectares irrigated area, 88.23 hectares unirrigated area. and remaining 30 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sonwari has One post office (Sonwani B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Sonwari has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sahatwar (NP) and Ballia to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
