Sonpur is a small village of 600 hectares in Balrampur Tehsil in Balrampur district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sonpur depends on MANIPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sonpur's pin code is 271201[4], and village code is 06619200. The area of Sonpur is segregated as, 419.6 hectares unirrigated area.
