Sonal is a small village of 307 hectares in Satari Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sonal depends on VALPOI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Sonal is also near by One lake. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Sonal's pin code is 403406[5], and village code is 00016100. The area of Sonal is segregated as 19.84 hectares irrigated area, 111.8 hectares unirrigated, the 147.69 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 27.58 hectare area not available for cultivation.
The village is connected with a single bus service. Sonal has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Sonal is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 430 and has total administration over 87 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

According to a census 2011 report, 119 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 100 male, 19 female with 115 (96.64%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 98 males and 17 females. 21 males and 3 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 43 male and 7 female agricultural labor. 4 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of VALPOI and North Goa to sell cashew nuts and make their living.
