Somasar is a small village of 4758 hectares in Sardarshahar Tehsil in Churu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Somasar depends on SARDARSHAHAR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Somasar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Somasar's pin code is 331403[4], and village code is 00609900. The area of Somasar is segregated as 4446.14 hectares unirrigated, the 73.22 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 138.41 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Somasar has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SARDARSHAHAR and Churu to sell brick and make their living.
