Somalpur is a small village of 1128 hectares in Ajmer Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Somalpur depends on Ajmer, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 291.85% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Somalpur is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Somalpur's pin code is 305003[4], and village code is 02504900. The area of Somalpur is segregated as 291.85 hectares irrigated area, 393.23 hectares unirrigated, the 153.75 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 238.61 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Ajmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
