Smilja Đaković (Serbian Cyrillic: ; 1895 - 1945) was the owner of the magazine Misao.[1][2]She had an influence[3]in the preservation and affirmation of Serbian literature in the global context. According to Jelena Skerlić Ćorović, "She was the woman of the Don Quixote breed who believed in her vision and persevered to the end." [4] She helped many writers, including Stevan Jakovljević and Milan Janjušević, and gave Tin Ujević a job in the magazine's editorial office.[5]

The three published stories were shaped by the experience of the war and published under the pseudonym Jovanka Petrović. Jelena Skerlić Ćorović notes that several of her poems were published under her real name in a children's magazine, and that she also wrote a social novel. Isidora Sekulić wrote an essay about her, "Record the name of Smilja Đaković", and Jelena Skerlić Ćorović mentions her in her book Живот међу људима, мемоарски записи ("Life among People, Memoir annotations").[6]
