Smaragda Nitsopoulou, born in Greece 1987, is an artist engaging with video art, film and installations.[1] Her work has been exhibited in various exhibitions and festivals, such as the Slavonian Biennal[2], Larnaca Biennale[3], Split International Film Festival[4], Simultan[5] and Video Art Miden.[6]

In 2017 she participated as a performer in Documenta 14 in Mattin's work "Social Dissonance"[7]. In 2018 she was awarded a fellowship at the moving image category by the SNF Artist Fellowship Program, ARTWORKS.[8] Between 2020 and 2021, she was a resident at the "IMPROVISA – Life in Motion"[9] cultural project that was held in Athens, Ljubljana and Lunlin.[10] In 2022 Nitsopoulou obtained a Master of Arts degree in Art and Education from Middlesex University London. In 2023 she joined the Filmakademie Nederlands Research program in Amsterdam.[11]
