Siya Saran Pandey (born 16 January 1963), popularly known as Dr. S. S. Pandey, is an Indian sociologist, educator, social worker, author, lecturer, YouTuber. In 2000 he joined as Research Assistant on the UNESCO Project “Village India” with famous Anthropologist Prof. Baidyanath Saraswati in Indira Gandhi Rastriye Kala Kendra, New Delhi and in 2002 he joined as an Assistant Professor in Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University (HNB PG College, Lalganj). and is currently the founder and director of the Dikshant IAS Coaching Institute, an UPSC coaching institute based in Delhi.
Early Life and education
Dr. S. S. Pandey was born on 16 January 1969 in Dehri On-Sone, Bihar. He did his schooling at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. After completing his schooling, he did a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Sociology at Magadh University. He then pursued a Master of Arts in Sociology from Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Pandey also holds an Ph.D. in ‘Labour-Management Relations’ from Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Pandey also got a post graduate diploma degree in Personal Management from National Institute of Personal Management.
Career
Dr. S. S. Pandey earned his Ph.D. in 2000 with a focus on "Labour – Management Relations In In3dia". Following his doctoral studies, he commenced his professional journey as a Research Assistant at the prestigious Indira Gandhi Rastriye Kala Kendra in New Delhi, working alongside renowned anthropologist Prof. Baidyanath Saraswati. In 2002, he transitioned to the role of Assistant Professor at Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, specifically at HNB PG College, Lalgang. However, his passion for education led him to resign from this position after a year, opting to dedicate himself to teaching UPSC aspirants.
In 2005, he established Dikshant IAS Coaching Institute in Delhi, with a vision to offer simplified coaching for aspiring civil servants. Dr. S. S. Pandey introduced an innovative teaching methodology tailored to facilitate the preparation process for the highly competitive UPSC examination. Following a significant expansion of his coaching institute, his life's purpose underwent a profound transformation in 2018, with a newfound commitment to the welfare of underprivileged students.
This pivotal moment spurred him to establish the "Padho Mera Desh" trust, aimed at providing free coaching and scholarships to economically disadvantaged students. Dr. S. S. Pandey's philanthropic endeavors reflect his unwavering dedication to empowering and uplifting the next generation of leaders, irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds.
Personal Life
Dr. Pandey is married to Shipra Pandey and they have two sons named Shashwat Pandey and Shaury Pandey.
