Simerjeet Singh

Simerjeet Singh is an international motivational speaker, professional keynote speaker, famous YouTuber, and host of the Beginner's Mind Podcast. His inspirational keynotes and workshops are renowned for their action-inspiring and authentic nature. He started his professional journey as a keynote speaker.[1] in 2007 and has served more than 300 organizations globally.

Based out of Jalandhar[2], Punjab, India, Simerjeet Singh speaks and consults internationally, offering in-person programs and virtual keynotes from his dedicated studio. He's an expert on leadership, personal transformation, the future of work, growth mindset, change management, creativity, and innovation. His poetry readings have received international acclaim, and several short videos from his #PoetryThatInspires Series were viral on WhatsApp and received millions of views.

Education

Simerjeet Singh graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management (SCU, NSW) from The Hotel School, Sydney[5], Australia[6]. Subsequently, he joined Marriott International[7], USA, for a Management Development Program in Scottsdale, Arizona[8]. In addition, he has a Certificate in Personal Performance Coaching from The Coaching Academy London[9], UK and is a Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) under Mr. Bruce Farrow, Helford 2000, UK. He is also an alumnus of IIM Lucknow[10] and IIM Ahmedabad[11], having acquired certifications in General Management Program and Emerging Leaders Program, respectively.

Early Life

Simerjeet was born to Surinder Pal Singh and Kulwant Kaur in 1979 in the city of Batala[12], Gurdaspur District[13], Punjab. Simerjeet's mother was the Head of the Department of English at RR Bawa DAV College, Batala and his father worked for the Punjab Government as an Executive Officer. Simerjeet Singh grew up in a household that encouraged reading, critical thinking, intellectual debates, and inter-faith understanding. Simerjeet Singh lost his father to cancer at 21 in 2002.

Professional Journey

Soon after his graduation in Hotel Management, Simerjeet Singh joined the hospitality industry with Marriott International and worked his way up to Operations Manager after starting as a trainee.

He had a successful stint for eight years in the hotel industry, working with the top hotel companies in the United States[14], India[15], Dubai[16], and the UK[17]

In October 2007, he returned to India to pursue a different profession - that of a motivational speaker[18] and coach. He has described his arduous struggle in several videos, including his TEDx Talk - The Art of Stepping into the Unknown[19].

Simerjeet Singh sets an inspiring example of how one can succeed in life if they are courageous enough to follow the heart's calling. Working out of his base in Jalandhar, Simerjeet Singh set up his company Cutting Edge Learning Systems. The firm caters to multinational corporations on their leadership coaching and people development needs. In addition, he travels worldwide to meet diverse people and share his experiences via custom workshops, keynotes, and motivational talks.
