Signa Butler is a Canadian sports reporter, program host and play-by-play commentator for CBC News Network, including on-location coverage of the Olympic Games as a field reporter.[1]
She is one of the few female colour commentators to provide play-by-play of nearly all sports on the broadcaster's roster.
Career
While a student at Saint Mary's University she played multiple sports including varsity soccer, where she was named a U Sports All-Canadian player. She also played basketball for the Nova Scotia provincial team and Canada Games field hockey team.
Butler joined CBC Sports in 2000 as a writer for the network's coverage of the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. She subsequently assumed a play-by-play role for the CBC Road to the Olympic Games team, becoming one of the few female broadcasters to cover nearly every sport on the network.
Coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing represented her 11th games as a CBC Sports reporter.[2]

Personal life
Butler lives in Toronto, Ontario with her husband and is the mother of twins.[5]
