Sierra Domb is a Cuban-American activist,[1][2][3] TEDx speaker,[4][5] and founder of the Visual Snow Initiative,[6] a nonprofit organization dedicated to curing the neurological disorder, Visual snow syndrome.

Activism

Domb experienced the onset of Visual Snow Syndrome in 2015. Her condition impacts an estimated 2-3% of the world's population.[7][8][9] On May 5, 2018, she organized the first Visual Snow Conference at University of California, San Francisco.[10][11] Domb worked with researchers at academic institutions,[12][13] such as King's College London,[14] Monash University, and the University of Colorado, to fund new studies and treatment options for Visual Snow Syndrome.[15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26]

Domb has contributed to Visual Snow Syndrome awareness.[27][28][29][30] Her nonprofit was the official charity partner of the 45th Daytime Emmy Awards.[31] Her cause received support from celebrities,[32][33]such as Ringo Starr,[34] Tommy Davidson, and John Salley.

Domb attended the University of Miami and holds Bachelor's of Science in Communication Studies. Her academic areas of concentration are behavioral sciences and health communication. She previously worked as a freelance voice actor, DJ at WVUM 90.5 FM "The Voice", and a reporter for the Coral Gables Community Foundation[35] in Coral Gables, Florida.
