Sidney Gilroy (born June 1, 1980) is a South African author, actor and researcher best known for the Afrikaans crime novels Klikbek, Middernag and Vlam. Gilroy starred in the internationaly released movies Hell Trip and The Last Sacrament. Gilroy is involved in cancer research and the co-founder and author of the KTE Model, a non-profit cancer research foundation based in South Africa. He also contributed to a youth novel, Ingonyama en ander maats met leeueharte and co-authored Op pad na Grysberg, a dystopian group novel.

Gilroy has received the kykNET Rapport Book Prize for film in 2021 for his novel Middernag, being nominated for the same prize the previous year for his debut novel Klikbek. In 2020, Gilroy was nominated for an ATKV Woordveertjie for the novel Klikbek. In 2022, Gilroy was included as one of the winners in the short-story competition for the Woordfeesbundel 2022.
