Shyam Manav is a rationalist[1] and social reformer[2][3] who leads the Akhil Bharatiya Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ABANS) organization that fights Superstition in India|superstitions.[4][5][6][7][8] He established ABANS in 1982 along with other rationalist activists from India.[9][10][11]

Shyam Manav was a major force behind the Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act enacted by the Indian state of Maharashtra, which he helped draft as well.[12][13][14]
