Shulamite Ezechi (born 12 February 1977) is a Nigerian-British social entrepreneur, author, policy analyst, humanitarian, and advocate for women and girl children. She is the founder of ANYiSO, a non-governmental organization.[1] Shulamite is the first black person to be awarded the Scot Parent award in Scotland, United Kingdom.[2][3][4]
Early life and education
Shulamite grew up in a family of 9 in Anambra State, Nigeria. Her mother was a nurse and her father, a businessman. She obtained her first degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Imo State University in 2006 and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition and Health from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Advocacy
Through her NGO, ANYiSO, Shulamite advocates for women and the girl child.[5] Shulamite participated in the panel discussion to analyse the documentary ‘Knock down the House’ organized by Gender Equal Media Scotland (GEMS).[6] In 2022, ANYiSO in conjunction with House Start signed a letter to the First Minister to increase the Scottish child payment.[7] She is an Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDAA).
Personal life
Shulamite keeps her personal life out of the media. She is married with children. When she is not working, she is listening to music, dancing, and reading.
