Shufti Pro is a global technology company that provides identity verification services, utilising advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence. Founded and launched in 2017 by Shahid Hanif (CTO), with co-founder Victor Fredung (CEO), having met in the work space and becoming good friends throughout the following years.
The inception of the company is attributed to both Shahid and Victor having experienced issues with verification providers in the payment sphere; Shahid’s prior career experience as a developer for a financial company, alongside his further education (B.Sc and MA) in computer science, specialising in artificial intelligence (University of Hertfordshire[1], The University of Edinburgh[2]), ensured he possessed the required knowledge and skillset to build a new identity verification solution. Alongside him, was co-founder Victor Fredung (CEO), a Fintech innovator, together they built Shufti Pro.
Over the last few years, the start-up has won a number of awards[3] pertaining to different solutions, technology, industries and countries/regions.[4]

Shufti Pro offers Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), Anti-money Laundering screenings (AML), Know Your Investor (KYI), risk assessment and E-IDV (electronic identity verification).
Shufti Pro offers verification services to a large number of industries, such as fintech, banking, finance, Forex, crypto, eCommerce, online gaming, gambling, insurance, education and healthcare.
The company’s software harnesses advanced technologies like liveness and anti-spoofing detection, and facial similarity recognition to cross check customer biometrics against their identity documents; alongside screening individuals and entities against sanction and watchlists, PEP, exclusion list and risk databases.
