ShopCash is an online shopping app available for users in the Middle East. ShopCash allows users to receive instant cash back rewards transferable to their bank account with each online purchase. ShopCash rewards can also be used to acquire discounts, coupons and gift cards redeemable from partner merchants.
At present, ShopCash is currently partnered with Amazon, AliExpress, GearBest, iHerb, H&M, Mumzworld, Mothercare, Mamas & Papas, Banggood, Styli, Nike, Ounass, Pottery Barn, GAP, The Luxury Closet, SharafDG, Bath & Body Works and Wego.
ShopCash is currently available only in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. However, there are plans to expand the service into Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt and across the rest of the MENA region.[1].
Background
ShopCash is developed by Wego, the largest online travel marketplace across the MENA region, and aims to provide customers with the opportunity to earn extra sums of cash for each purchase they make online. Users may earn their preferred rewards by shopping in a list of hundreds of online retailers across a variety of shopping categories.
ShopCash also looks to provide merchants with a platform to acquire new customers and drive sales volumes via a wide range of stores, brands and product promotional activities. Taking advantage of Wego’s massive user base of customers, merchants will then be able to offer in-app promotions, flash-sales, coupons and other types of deals to their customers in a precise and targeted manner.
Wego launched the ShopCash program in early 2021 in its bid to capitalize on the thriving GCC e-commerce market, valued at $24 billion in 2020 [2]
Despite being a part of the Wego loyalty program, ShopCash is a standalone brand and program. It will, however, remain tightly integrated into Wego’s mobile apps and websites to allow Wego users to earn cashbacks when shopping for flights and hotels.
