Shlomi Shuv (Hebrew: שלומי שוב; born 1971) is a CPA, Head of the Accounting Program, and Deputy Dean of the Arison School of Business at Reichman University.[1][2]

Shuv's academic and professional work focuses on IFRS in Israel,[3][4] and he chairs the Fair Value Forum.[5]

Early life and education

Shlomi Shuv was born in Tel Aviv. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration from the College of Management Academic Studies and was certified as a CPA in 1998. In the same year, he completed his MBA studies with honors at the Ben-Gurion University School of Business Administration.[6]

Career

Shuv served until 2006 in management positions at the accounting firms Fahn Kanne & Co., Ljuboschitz Kassirer, and KPMG Somekh Chaikin & Co. In 2006, he founded IFRS Consulting Ltd., which provides consulting services in the field of IFRS.[7]

In 1996, he began teaching in the academic track of the College of Management, School of Business Administration, and became a senior lecturer. In 2006, he founded the Accounting Department at Reichman University, and since 2010 he has served as Deputy Dean of the Arison School of Business Administration.[7][8]

He is also the academic director of the Financial Accounting courses at the Open University of Israel, Department of Management and Economics. His book "New Financial Accounting: IFRS 2020" is an official textbook in financial accounting courses at the Open University.[9][10][dead link]

Public service

Shuv participates in the professional committee of the Israeli Accounting Standards Board,[11] and served as chairman of the steering committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Israel to examine the future of the accounting profession.[12][dead link] Shuv was also a member of the advisory committee for the Tax Authority concerning Clause 77 (Forced Dividends).[13]

In 2011, he founded the Fair Value Forum (FVF) with Prof. Amir Barnea.[14]

He also serves as an external director at the real estate investment company Aloni Hetz and Midroog (a credit rating company, partly owned by Moody’s).[15][16]
