Shelley Herman is an Emmy-nominated TV writer who is married to actor Randall Carver. [1] [2] [3] She attended Agoura High School in Agoura Hills, California, and graduated from California State University, Northridge with a BA degree in Radio, TV, and Film. [4] [5]

Herman has written for Supermarket Sweep, Liar's Club, Love Connection, Breakaway, Outdoor Outtakes, Trivia Unwrapped, Balderdash, Show Me the Money, and The Million Second Quiz. She was also a contestant twice on The Dating Game. Herman also hosted several talk-radio shows in Los Angeles, California. [6] [7] [8]

Herman's book My Peacock Tale: Secrets Of An NBC Page (2023) is about her experiences in the 1970s as a NBC Page in Burbank, California. Herman got the 18-month position after the mother of a woman, she worked with at Sears, referred her to Eba Hawkins who was head of human resources at NBC.[9] [10] [11] [12]

As a page, she worked on TV shows such as The Tonight Show, The Gong Show, The Midnight Special, Hollywood Squares, Password, Sanford and Son, and Chico and the Man. [13]

In her book, Herman recalled stories about Johnny Carson, Robin Williams, Gilda Radner, Freddie Prinze, Richard Pryor, Chuck Barris, Harry Chapin, Alfred Hitchcock, Erik Estrada, and McLean Stevenson.[14] [15]
