Shay LàVu (born September 18, 1993) is a model, actress, and entrepreneur who is best known for her appearances in music videos and for her selfie content on Instagram. She is the founder of LashShayVu, a platform that offers eyelashes of different lengths and shapes.[1]
Early life and education
Shay grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, and studied at Novi Community School. Since childhood, she has immersed herself in several activities like dance, competitive cheerleading, travel soccer, track, music, poetry, and acting. However, her passion had always been in the realm of fashion, hair, and makeup.
This propelled her to attend cosmetology school and learn more about this industry. Shay soon started working in a nearby salon, where she was mentored by the owner and his wife on how to run a salon from scratch.
Career
Shay launched herself as a model and an actress by participating in bikini contests and photo shoots across different countries. During her professional journey, Shay worked with major brands like Playboy and has collaborated with FashionNova, Flat Tummy Co., and Versed Skin Care.
Shortly after, Shay moved to Beverly Hills to pursue various opportunities and experiences in the beauty and acting worlds. Her love for makeup applications that she experienced during her shoots later culminated in launching her own business called LashShayVu. Shay encourages and empowers people to feel attractive wearing lashes and display a distinct personality through her platform.
Awards and Milestones
Shay received the John Robert Powers Acting and Modeling Scholarship as a contestant in the National American Miss Pageant. She has won the titles of "most photogenic winner" and "most promising model winner." LàVu also graced the cover and centerfold of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip 2015 Calendar.
Shay is also a published poet, having written a poem titled "Ode to Cats."
Personal life
Shay currently lives in Beverly Hills, California. She has one older brother and two loving parents.
