Shankarpur is a small village of 30.76 hectares in Ballia Tehsil in Ballia district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shankarpur depends on Belthara Road , the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Shankarpur's pin code is 277001[4], and village code is 09085000. The area of Shankarpur is segregated as 21 hectares irrigated area, 3.06 hectares unirrigated area. the 1.5 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 2.2 hectare area not available for cultivation.
