Shania Bedward is a Team Canada Weightlifter[1], Commonwealth Champion[2] and 3[3] time Canadian National Champion [1] [2][3]. She holds the Commonwealth weightlifting records in both the snatch and total in the 76kg category[4]. Shania Bedward won Bronze at the 2024 IWF World Cup in the clean and jerk[5]. Shania began weightlifting between 2020 and 2021 in Ontario. She became a national team athlete on the Canadian weightlifting team in 2021 where she represented Canada at her first international event that took place at the Pan American Championships in Ecuador[6].
