Shamik Guha Roy
Shamik Guha Roy started taking the first steps into the wide world of music through taking part in rock concerts as he was a part of a rock band as the lead vocalist. They have toured in and around the state playing for the local as well as the national audience. An IT engineer degree holder Shamik continued his studies pursuing Masters in folk music. The search for new sounds and creating something new instilled a desire for musical experimentation into him which led to him starting a new leg of his musical journey as the sound engineer for the percussionist Maestro Bickram Ghosh.
Early years
Journey of music started with college fests, Techno India, Presidency College, CNMC champs started showing up on stage with a new line-up. Shamik rocked the stage at Swabhumi, City Centre, different colleges and various Outstations.
Six musicians, each specializing in different concepts, got together in mid-2010 to form Shamik & Bong . The band attempts at reviving Bengali folk songs with Indian Classical & Bollywood pop music, which the young generation has moved away from. It aspires to bring back the old taste in a new form and to blend the "Bong" and the "Bangali" seamlessly.

Shamik Guha Roy received best recording engineer award by IRAA in 2015, 2017 & 2018. Received The Award of Best Recording Engineer by Indian Recording Art Academy (IRAA) for the album "The Music Room" by Bickram Ghosh & Sonu Nigam (2015), Maya by Bickram Ghosh (2017) and Bengali Movie Durga Sohay (2018)
Shamik has been Nominated in IRAA for BEST Sound Designer, Sound Engineer & Assistant Music director for Album Krishna Sudha Ras (Sonu Nigam & Bickram Ghosh) and Movie “Kadambari “ & “Har Har Byomkesh”. Along with “Baahubali” & “Dil Dhadakne Do”
