Shahpur is a small village of 1734 hectares in Shahbad Tehsil in Baran district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shahpur depends on Baran, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Shahpur is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Shahpur's pin code is 325217[4], and village code is 03919200. The area of Shahpur is segregated as 54 hectares irrigated area, 100 hectares unirrigated, the 221 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 696 hectare area not available for cultivation.
