Anushae Gill (Urdu languageنوشہ گل) known professionally as Shae Gill, is a Pakistani singer. Her song 'Pasoori' gained popularity in Pakistan and India.[1] The song was part of Coke Studio (Pakistani season 14), and featured Ali Sethi.[2]
Early life and education
Shae Gill was born and raised in Lahore and studied Economics at Forman Christian College.[3] It was there that one of her friends motivated her to start an Instagram page to share videos of herself singing in May 2019.[4] She first gained recognition for her performance of Faiz's poem Aaj Bazaar Mai, which she recorded for Womanistan, a local feminist publication.[5][6]
