Servet Duran (Silopi, January 1 1983) is a Turkey singer-songwriter. He is of Assyrian origin and speaks Aramaic as his native language. Servet, one of the 7 children, came to Belgium with his family when he was 5 years old. Since a young age he has a love and interest in Turkish music. Over the years, he broadened his environment to collaborate with major artists and producers at home and abroad. After several amateur albums, he made his first professional album in 2011, with the well-known producer Suat Sakarya, where he also signed a recording contract with Kiliç Müzik in Istanbul. A popular song on this album is Sevdim Seni[1] written by the singer and songwriter Mustafa Güngece. The clip of this song was filmed in Istanbul under the direction of the well-known Turkish director Erkan Nas. In 2016 Servet was allowed to participate in the peace song that is called 'Kardeslik Türküsü'[2][3], in which 27 artists participated. The song has been sung in six different languages with the message 'we don't want ethnic discrimination in Turkey. Servet sang the Aramaic(in Turkish 'Suryani') part of the song there. In 2018 he released a Aramaic single called 'Ana w'lebi' ('me and my heart') under his own label SD music. In 2020 Servet released his single 'bosa bosa'[4] . A first in Turkey, a song in 3 languages. The genre of the song is hip hop and is sung in 3 languages namely Dutch, Arabic and Turkish. Despite the fact that the singer is successful [5][6][7] in Turkey, he does not only stop at making Turkish music, but in 2021 during the pandemic he releases a Dutch song called 'Bij Jouw Zijn(in English 'being with you'). Shortly after, he released another single, 'Elbet görüsüruz' under the well-known Turkish label Seyhan Müzik.
