Sergei Tivetsky was a Russian artist known for his paintings and works on paper. As a young man, Tivetsky came under the mentorship of influential unofficial artist Vladimir Weisberg. During this period, he honed his skills and artistic discipline, drawing inspiration from renowned artists such as Cezanne, Modigliani, Seurat, Morandi, and El Greco.
In the early 1980s, Tivetsky relocated to the United States, where he experienced a creative resurgence. He began working extensively on paper, creating powerful and spontaneous artworks that allowed him to experiment with new ideas. Additionally, he explored the technique of monoprints, providing a unique avenue for expressing complex concepts without dedicating the significant effort to texture, as seen in his paintings.[1]
