Selldretti is best known for his song, “Composure”, that was listed in the iTunes Top 100 Hip-Hop/Rap Charts.[5]

Selldretti has been featured in numerous media outlets including Influencive, IB Times, Thrive Global, Disrupt Magazine, Vents Magazine, FlipBoard, Yahoo, and others.[6]

Early life and education

Selldretti was born in Columbus, GA, on 18 May 1994 to Marcus Seldon Sr. and Nicole Ash. He grew up with his two brothers, Marcus Seldon Jr. and Nicholas Seldon. Selldretti completed his education at St. Marys Road Christian Academy, Mother Mary Private School, Dimon Elementary, Britt David Magnet Academy, Midland Middle School, and Northside High School. During his school years, Selldretti played the running back and outside linebacker position in Football. He was even selected in the 2011 Columbus Ledger-Enquirer Dandy Dozen for leading the city in total tackles.

After graduating in 2012, Selldretti decided to enlist in the United States Army, where he served until 2015 before receiving an honorable discharge to attend the United States Military Academy. Selldretti is the First African American Male from Columbus, GA, to graduate from the United States Military Academy. In 2019, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Law from the United States Military Academy and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the United States Army.[7]

Career

Selldretti established his interest in rapping by looking up to his brother, Marcus Seldon Jr., a renowned artist. While Selldretti was in the United States Military Academy, he released his first single, "Welcome to Columbus, Ga", which gained much acclaim and was featured on DJ Young Cee's mixtape Record Labels Need Me Vol. 88. The single later became a part of his debut album "Life Goes On" which was originally released in late 2016.[8]

Soon Selldretti founded Selldretti Music, a record label under which he created S.M.G. consisting of members B-Hernz, LBS, K'lauren, DJ Kin, Sharheem, and Jay4Real, under which he was a part of the album “The Move”. All of Selldretti’s songs are released under this label.[9][10]

Selldretti, throughout his career, has gained much popularity for his songs and vouches firmly for his label’s motto Follow the Movement, under which he promotes quality and inspirational hip-hop music amongst the masses. He has gained recognition for his story-telling, signature lyricism and has acquired over 9,000,000 streams worldwide. His song ‘’Composure” released in 2021 charted #1 on iTunes Top 100 Hip-Hop/Rap Charts and #2 on the overall iTunes Top 100 Charts in South Africa. His songs are available on all streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and others.[11][12]

Follow The Movement

Selldretti announced a new podcast called “Follow The Movement” December 31st, 2022.

Follow The Movement Podcast was created to connect with listeners on a deeper level than just through music. Selldretti will take you through a journey of his life experiences outside of music covering topics ranging from military life, sports, family, the cadet experience at The United States Military Academy, personal challenges and growth, and many more.

The meaning of the podcast title originates from the act of living in your purpose...God’s purpose for you! When you are living in the purpose God has set for you, your purpose for doing anything is because you feel led by God to do it. The word “Movement” means God’s purpose because God is the reason for the movement in your life. When you put it all together, the title means “Follow Your Purpose” or ”Led/Lead In God’s Purpose For You”. Whether it’s a physical, mental, financial, or spiritual movement, make sure every decision you make is led by God!
