Seletar Flying Club is a non-profit aero club located in Seletar Airport, Singapore. It provides recreational flying activities and allow members to undertake flying lessons to attain a Private Pilot License.
Over the years, the club house have been moved from the western side of Seletar Airport, to the eastern side near the maintenance hangars.[1] In 2011, the club once again moved to its current location at the new Business Aviation Complex with a commanding view of the airport apron area. [2] The current club house is equipped with a member's lounge, which is popular with members for meetups, a classroom for ground school/flight briefings and a dedicated station running flight simulator software.
Aircraft
In August 2019, to replace our ageing Piper Warrior, Seletar Flying Club decided to dispose its sole Piper PA28 and subsequently acquired a Beechcraft Debonair C33 through a leasing agreement so as to cater for member's desire to learn and operate a faster general aviation aircraft.
Fleet
As of 1 July 2020, the Seletar Flying Club fleet consists of 2 Cessna 172 aircraft and 1 Beechcraft Debonair C33.[3]
Training
The club provides training towards attaining private pilot certification for members of the public interested in taking up the challenge of learning to fly. On obtaining a private pilot license, club members can hire club aircraft to various destinations around the region for short vacations or personal reasons bringing along their friends and family. The club also conducts regular navigation expeditions to various airports in the region in addition to regular aviation activities. The club's instructors can also provide navigation training, night flying recency and maintenance of FAA PPL currency for member pilots.[4]
