John "An Common Noun" Daly (1861 — 1940) known as Seán (Seaghán) Ó Dálaigh was an Irish author and schoolmaster in the Dingle_Peninsula Gaeltacht.
Seán was a schoolmaster in Dunquin. Among his students were Irish language authors Peig Sayers and Pádraig ua Maoileoin. Seán is the schoolmaster Peig Sayers writes about in her biography Peig.
Seán himself was an Irish language author. He published Clocha Sgáil (1906) and Timcheall Chinn Sléibhe (1933).
Seán was the father of noted Irish folklorist Seosamh Ó Dálaigh.
