Scott DelVecchio

Scott DelVecchio is a graduated Folkstyle wrestler. He was a 2014 National Collegiate Open Champion, 2014 Clarion Open Champion, and a 2016 (Sixth) Midlands Championships placewinner[1]. In 2018 he was named an All-American. DelVecchio finished his career at Rutgers University 88 regular season wins and three National Collegiate Athletic Association Championships qualifications.[2] He is currently an assistant coach at the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Folkstyle Career

High School

DelVecchio attained a 160-10 career record as a four-year letterwinner at South Plainfield High School and was a two-time New Jersey state champion at 132 pounds. He went 44-0 during his undefeated senior season.[1]

College

DelVecchio finished the 2013-2014 season with a record of 21-7 overall and 4-3 in duels. He took first place at the National Collegiate Open tournament in that same season. DelVecchio finished the 2014-2015 season with a record of 21-11 and a 5-4 Big Ten duel record. That season he qualified for the NCAA tournament. In the 2015-2016 season he redshirted and finished with a 19-6 record. He was once again a redshirt in the 2016-2017 season but obtained notable wins over Oregon State University Joseph Palmer, and Pennsylvania State University George Carpenter and a 25-15 record. He finished his final season with a record of 25-10 and a final rank of number 12 and a sixth place finish at the NCAA tournament.[3]
