Sayra is a small village of 496 hectares in Gogunda Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sayra depends on Sadri, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sayra is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sayra's pin code is 313704[4], and village code is 03070400. The area of Sayra is segregated as 127 hectares irrigated area, 32 hectares unirrigated, the 299 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 38 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The workforce is 780 male, 530 female with 1248 (95.27%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 762 males and 486 females. 232 males and 186 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 236 male and 249 female agricultural labor. 62 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sadri and Udaipur to sell wood furniture and make their living.
