Sati Achath (Born December 1, 1952 ) is an Indian American artist who performs ventriloquism, hand shadow puppetry, magic, and draws cartoons and caricatures. He is also an author and a motivational and leadership speaker. Sati has been featured on The Late Show with David Letterman [1] and America's Got Talent [2]. He is a Project Evaluation Specialist of the World Bank.
Early life, education and Career
Sati Achath was born on December 1, 1952 in Calicut, Kerala, India to C K Menon and Saraswathy Amma. He grew up in Thrissur, Kerala, India where he had his schooling, graduation and post graduation. Later he went abroad for higher studies and took his Master of Science and MBA from the USA. He also did his Master of International Relations from France.
While in India, he had worked in the State Bank of Travancore as an Officer and the Life Insurance Corporation of India as Assistant Administrative Officer. Later, he was selected into the prestigious Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and worked as Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax and Assistant Director of Investigation (Intelligence) for eight years. Since 1994 Sati has been working for the World Bank in Washington, D.C. in various positions, including as Tax Administration Specialist and Project Evaluation Specialist.
Accomplishments
Sati is a multi-talented artist.
He is an expert hand shadows master who has perfected this art form by creating shadow caricatures of more than 100 celebrities ranging from Michael Jackson to Mother Teresa [3] and hand shadow images of about 50 birds and animals. He had appeared in Late Show with David Letterman[1] and was also quarter-finalist on NBC’s 2008 America's Got Talent [2].
He has been a ventriloquism performer for more than two decades and has performed in different countries and appeared in several television channels like Doordarshan[4] of the Government of India.[5][6][7]
He is a professional cartoonist and a caricaturist. His cartoons and caricatures have been published in many newspapers and magazines.
He is also a magician, a motivational,leadership speaker and an author of many books.
