Sarthoona is a small village of 1828 hectares in Simalwara Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarthoona depends on Dungarpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 40.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarthoona is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sarthoona's pin code is 314403[4], and village code is 03366500. The area of Sarthoona is segregated as 100 hectares irrigated area, 1054 hectares unirrigated, the 155 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 196.16 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dungarpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
