Sarai Kalan is a small village of 382 hectares in Mandawar Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarai Kalan depends on KHAIRTHAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 120.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarai Kalan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sarai Kalan's pin code is 301401[4], and village code is 00773800. The area of Sarai Kalan is segregated as 252 hectares irrigated area, 96 hectares unirrigated, the 13 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 21 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of KHAIRTHAL and Alwar to sell earthen pot and make their living.
