Sanvordem is a small village of 340 hectares in Satari Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sanvordem depends on VALPOI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Sanvordem is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Sanvordem's pin code is 403506[5], and village code is 00016000. The area of Sanvordem is segregated as 7.2 hectares irrigated area, 205.12 hectares unirrigated, the 14.96 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 72.31 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sanvordem has One post office (Sanvordem B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Sanvordem has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics

Sanvordem is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 897 and has total administration over 180 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of VALPOI and North Goa to sell cashew nuts and make their living.
