Sankarna is a small village of 2359 hectares in Ahore Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sankarna depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 166.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sankarna is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sankarna's pin code is 343001[4], and village code is 02285600. The area of Sankarna is segregated as 166 hectares irrigated area, 676 hectares unirrigated, the 127.52 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1258 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
