Sandra Raye Mitchell professionally known as Raye Mitchell and also known as Boss Girl, is an American social entrepreneur, civil rights lawyer, investigative writer, author,[citation needed] and producer.[1]

Mitchell is the founder of the New Reality Foundation, Inc.[citation needed] and CEO of the Winning Edge Institute, Inc.[citation needed] She is also the host of a podcast called The Mouthology Show and the recipient of the |Jefferson Award.[2]

Education

Mitchell earned her BS in Public Policy from the University of Southern California in 1980.[3][4] She completed her MBA in Management and Organizational Behavior and Marketing in 1982 from USC Marshall School of Business.[5] Later, she got her juris doctorate from Harvard Law School In 1994.[6]

Career

In her career, Mitchell earned the moniker' Boss Girl' during her marketing and advertising tenure, working on the Trix and Lucky Charms cereals in the Big G Division of General Mills, Inc.[3] She worked in marketing health and beauty products with renowned brands, such as Gillette and Colgate Palmolive.[6][1]

Mitchell is the Founder of the New Reality Foundation, Inc.[citation needed] and CEO of the Winning Edge Institute, Inc. She is a member of the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund network, a firm that provides legal support for women and girls affected by harassment.[citation needed]

In 2022, Mitchell partnered with Cindy Brown, an Olympic Gold Medalist and former WNBA player,[1] to launch Bossology 53 Entertainment,[citation needed] a Black-owned content and media company that creates film, TV projects, and publishing content.[2][5]

Mitchell was represented the defendant in a trademark dispute case filed by the estate of Tupac Shakur in Shakur et al. v. Barranco et al., United States District Court.[citation needed]

Project G.U.R.L.S.

Mitchell is the CEO and founder of GURLS Lead. Her Foundation, I C Hope: The Making a New Reality,[citation needed] launched project G.U.R.L.S. (Growth, Unity, Respect, Leadership, and Success) – a global initiative to engage girls of color in leadership development and utilizing their voices to create change.[6]

Furthermore, GURLS Lead hosted a historic meeting with the Ambassador to unveil the 2014 Leadership Journey for Change Project focused on humanitarian efforts, alleviating poverty, increasing access to education globally, and training the next generation of global leaders in business, entertainment, new media, and STEM.[6]
