Sandeep Pokharel
Sandeep Pokharel, also spelled Sandeep Pokhrel (born: 5 May, 1994) is a Nepali model, actor, and theatre artist who won the title of Mr. Nepal in 2015.
He played as the role of Lalit Jung or Laertes in the “Hamlet in Nepali”, Nepali adaptation of Shakesphere's Hamlet, which was specially executed and staged by British Council Nepal in 2015[1].
Personal life
Pokharel was born on 5 May 1994 in Gorkha District. A fashion model, in 2015, he became Mr. Nepal, along with wining several noteworthy titles such as Mr. Personality, Mr. Handsome, and Mr. Physique. In 2016, Pokharel represented Nepal in the "Man of the Year" competition. Although he did not win the main "Man of the Year 2016" title, he did receive recognition in two sub-categories: the "People's Choice Award" and the "Man of the Year 2016 Best Talent Award."[2]
He has completed his acting course at Theater Village in Lazimpat. Apart from his accomplishments, Sandeep has also garnered valuable experience by performing in street theater and international dramas. Notably, he played a leading role in the Nepali adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' and even had the opportunity to perform the play in London, UK. Sandeep's versatility extends beyond theater, as he has also acted in short films, music videos[3], advertisements, and modeled for newspapers and magazines. He has also served as the showstopper for several fashion shows[4].
He currently works for Tesla in Bay Area, California and is a certified licensed flight dispatcher, graduated from Institute of Flight Operations and Dispatch (IFOD), Irving, Texas.
